Sherpa Testimonials

I love my Sherpa bag! I have flown across country many times with my Sherpa, people stop me in the airport all the time and comment on my pet carrier! What a great product... I own the Sherpa Delux pet carrier.

THANK GOD FOR SHERPA!!!

I purchased one of your pet carriers 4 years ago in order to move my cat, Dixie, from Virginia to Idaho. The bag was amazing. Not only did it keep my cat comfortable through a total of 12 hours of traveling it also didn't "look" like a cat carrier which provided an extra level of safety for my cat. I have since flown my cat cross-county 3 times in the Sherpa and it has been amazing. I can't thank you enough for the great pet product.

Just wanted to say thanks so much for a truly great product! Customer service quickly responded to our inquiries on sizing and we ended up getting the large bag for Freddy, our 17-pound Min Pin/Dachshund mix. He fit comfortably in the bag and the bag fit beneath the seat on our United flights from DC to Portland, Oregon and back.

We purchased The Original Sherpa bag for our Havanese puppies, in 2003. They both loved to be in their bags even when not traveling. We would leave the end open and they would go in and take a nap on their own. The only drawback of our bags is the cave-in factor. If we could find a way to strengthen the top (like the new bags)we would be very, very happy!!

I commute across Puget Sound via ferry from Bremerton to Seattle - my dog travelled with me daily from 1999 until May 2005. The Sherpa bag was amazingly durable and only recently started to show wear after years of constant use.

The dog recently passed away and I discarded the old Sherpa bag - it was one of the more difficult things to dispose of since the dog went everywhere in it. She'd been in museums, restaurants, planes, countless shops and even the Space Needle...

I was recently given another pug - and I immediately purchased another Sherpa bag. So far she's doing very well on her commute!

Thanks again for a great product!

I needed a small, soft and secure place to house my rabbits during travel. I have yet to fly them anywhere, but cardboard boxes and plastic pet carriers were too slippery and hard. They would slide into the walls and I was worried about bruises. I purchased your carrier and, rabbits being the naturally inquisitive critters that they are jumped right in. They also love tunnels, so I'm sure that helped. The carrier is almost always open on the floor for them to play in, that helps make trips even less stressful.

I recently requested a swatch of mesh fabric to mend a Sherpa bag we recently bought (our little Doxie went on a chewing fit). I want to thank you for such fine and prompt attention to my request. Thanks to Patrick who telephoned to say the mesh would be sent by mail. We received it so quickly.

You make a fine product and have wonderful customer service. I’ll be sure and recommend Sherpa to my pet-loving friends.

I absolutely recommend SHERPA as the only way to go. My new cairn terrier-or, actually, she is a year and a half almost, has travelled from the first minute I got her in one. I purchased her in MEMPHIS and I live in ALASKA. I did not want to have her ride in the cargohold, and she is a size medium. I have both the medium and the large rolling carrier which I recommend highly. No stress on the shoulders and Katie can see out or she can also have privacy with the roll down window flaps. As you can imagine, the flights are long and tedious, but the flight attendents give her excellent treatment and Katie has travelled many times from ALASKA to visit her half sister, Mandy, a cairn terrier who is 2 years old, and my mother, who live in Memphis. It is a real pleasure to have this bag and I feel, gives alot of comfort to these little ones! I leave her bag out in our den, which she goes into when she wants privacy, or if she does not feel well, she instantly goes into her little house. Thanks for a wonderful product!

Just wanted to let you klnow how much our Maltese adore your bags. We breed Maltese dogs and when people come to pick up their new babies we tell them about your products and to demonstrate simply put the bag open on the floor and in no time flat there is one or more of our adults jumping in the bag.

THey love to go with us and they love their bags. If one is left open on the floor there is always A Maltese in it.

I recently ordered the Sherpa On Wheels for my Cairn puppy. It's wonderful and my dog LOVES it. I can't wait to use it for our upcoming trip. Special "Thanks" to Eric Popowski.

At the end of June 2001, my husband and I, along with our 13-year-old, Maverick, returned to the USA after being stationed in Europe for many years. Northwest Airlines informed us that Maverick would have to ride in the belly of the plane, so I say "no way" and booked a flight from Frankfurt-Detroit with Lufthansa up in First Class (the only seats available -- hardship). Immediately went to this website to purchase the original Sherpa Bag, and lo and behold, Maverick didn't mind it. As luck would have it, my favorite cat didn't have to be put under the seat during the flight, but had room to sit in front of me and my husband and see what was going on. Due to the mesh construction, he could see out, and he was happy. The flight attendants made a fuss over him and offered him cavier and salmon (which he ate), and ignored me and my husband (not really, but you get the picture). Maverick probably had a better time than we did! I continued to transport him in his Sherpa bag until his death in 2004. I now own a total of 3 Sherpa bags in different models, and recommend them highly. Thank you!

My rat terrier, Paris, and I just returned to college from visitng family over the Thanksgiving holidays. About 25 minutes from our home, we were involved in a traffic accident. I just wanted to tell everyone that the Sherpa Bag saved my little Paris's life. Had he not been in the bag and seat belted in, the impact of the crash would have surely killed him. I think there should be a law requiring pets to be safely restrained while riding in cars. If you do not already use a Sherpa Bag, you should get one and use it all the time on EVERY trip!

Hello

I just wanted to let you know how wonderful your carriers are and how well our 6 hour flight went with our 2 pugs. We purchased 2 of your large sherpa bags, for a relocation from Philadelphia to San Francisco. We took United Airlines, which was wonderful as far as traveling with our pugs. We each put a pug in the sherpa bag and placed them under our seat. My one pug weighs about 25 lbs so it was a little tight, but he was able to turn around in the bag, and my other pug 18 lbs. They both got there in one piece and the bags fit wonderfully underneath the seat in front of us. Thank you for making our move, a little less stressful

Hi Gayle,

Let me start again I have a red plaid tote that I love as I can take my little 3 pound Black and Tan Chihuahua Dog everywhere in...we have been a fan since 1992...have just recently reitired the original Sherpa Bag... The new bag is great as being a Tote people just think its my oversized handbag. I belive my little chihuahua is the only dog to attend the play "CATS" in Las Vegas Nevada this summmer and we also saw the show Jubilee...we had dinner at the Balagio and no one knew...I just set her bag down under the seat of my chair and she is quiet very happy in "HER" tote bag! I also get to take her to work with me. I have her on my desk right now in her bag,she has even gone to meetings and no one is the wiser...What a wonderful thing you and your Sherpa did for people and their pets!!! I am planning to visit my sister and her family in Sweden next! I will send you some pictures when I get them back of my chihuahua watching the Balagio fountain from her tote bag!

Thanks again so much...

Linda Scott

Dear Gayle,

Greetings from the Windy City. I write to say thanks so much for the gift of your Sherpa bag! My Gaia, a two-year old Pekingnese Poodle absolutely LOVES her Sherpa "puppy bag!" Using it we have gone to grocery stores, resturants, movie theatres, car trips (long and short), even weddings--with no one else the wiser.

Last holiday we went from the Heartland to the Pacific Northwest without a bit of trouble. This year, we're headed to Europe! We'll have a toast on New Year's Eve to Sherpa's memory--and to you!

Hello all

I moved from Canada to Belgium in 1998, with my travel-weary dalmatian in cargo and my old cat Nishka in your Original Sherpa bag in cabin. She was 12 at the time and had been terrified of all form of travel. I feared the worst had she gone cargo until I found that Sabena, Belgium's then national airlines accepted small pets in cabin. Off to the store for a carrier and when I saw the Sherpa I just knew it was for us.

Well, she loved the Sherpa and the flight was uneventful from start to finish. The only "problem" I had was that she was so well "camouflaged" the airport security personnel wanted to put her on the XRay machine! I had to stop them saying I had a cat in that "sports bag"! They didn't believe me until I pulled her out, walked through the metal detector with her in my arms and had them put the empty bag onto the conveyor. They'd never seen such a carrier and all raved about it!

We had quite a bit of travel time before reaching the airport, plus the "check in 2.5 hours ahead when you're carrying pets" rule, she had already been in her bag for nearly 4 hours before we stepped on the plane for the 8 hour flight. Lucky for us the plane was light and she spent the trip on the empty seat next to me. She fussed once, at which time I took her in her bag to the toilet. Even with the liner, she wouldn't pee in her bag. She used the people toilet like she often did at home, so I was able to arrive in Belgium with a clean, fresh smelling cat! Even the stewardess didn't realize I had a cat with me until I asked for extra breakfast for her.

She's sadly gone from our lives now (at age 17.5) but we have two kittens, Castor and Pollux, who are enjoying her Sherpa bag every day for a snooze.

Now if you only made travelling products big enough for our dalmatian (30kg) and Irish Wolfhound (80+kg).

Keep up the good work!

Good Morning.

Our trip from Texas to Minnesota was a breeze. Pierette loved her new Sherpa. This is the third one and the second on wheels. It is a God Send. I travel with her to Mexico every winter and Minnesota in the Summer. She is now 13, a Toy Red Poodle and I dare not get her Sherpa out until the last moment as she will fight to get into it too soon. I tried many others before as I have had 3 poodles befor her, but none compare for comfort for her and for me.

Thank you from Pierette and from me.

Hi,

I am emailing you to let you know that I had no trouble at all travelling with my pet all the way to Europe and back. Travel included regional jets as well as Boeing 747's (I travelled with Continental from Mexico to the US, with Delta from the US to Greece and back and with Olympic Airways within Greece). The bag sure provided for a secure environment for my scared cat.

Thanks again,

Dear Gayle,

Compliments and thanks are in order for your Sherpa-On-Wheels luggage.

We wanted a nice piece of luggage that would serve as rolling luggage for us, from time to time when needed, as well as a transport crate for our Minature Schnauzer.

We looked at a lot of bags similar to yours (Samsonite, Tutto, Ferrari) – but they were clearly single-function pieces of luggage with all the mesh on the sides. Mesh-only bags would not conceal and protect our clothes or conceal the Schnauzer those times we wanted to take her places.

Some of the competitor’s models actually seemed unstable on the wheels, and the wheels were much noisier than yours when the bag was in motion, and the ride not nearly as smooth.

Using your bag as straight luggage is easy; the wide top opening allows easy packing with shoes and clothes. The bag rolls easy and is stable in motion yet when the situation calls for it, the bag can be carried as well, and quite comfortably. Accessing different items when the bag is packed is much, much easier too, than any other bag we looked at.

We use this luggage for hospital stays and there isn’t a bag on the market that can compare to yours for easy top loading convenience and access, wheeling and carrying ease and stability when in motion.

None of the luggage manufacturers we checked had the duffle-style bag (which you have) with the wide top opening for easy loading like yours does. Nor did they have the duffle in the FLAT rolling version, such as yours. The others required tipping the bag with the clothes within the bag falling to one end and jumbling the contents.

Possibly those bag designers don’t travel very much.

Your Sherpa-on-Wheels is a very well thought out bag. Keep up the great design work. Any chance you will be coming out with that Sherpa on Wheels in leather?

Sue Robertson.

P S: The “Mini” loves it too, as it means she is going somewhere.

I have a 4 year old Coton - Meggy. I took her to France - Alsace- with me in October, 2003. I took her on the plane in your standard bag & used the Sherpa tote for the trains & buses. Your products work great. I have since purchased the To Go backpack. I love Sherpa products & they make taking my dog with me so easy!

I've had a Sherpa Bag since 1993 (about ten minutes after I saw one in use, had to drive to the store!)and my cat LOVES it. Or, should I say, THEM. Beryl's on his second original bag, having outgrown the small as he aged... sideways. I also have a Kartu waiting for him to move into when the second one gets too small for him. There's also an About Town, which comes in handy for short trips to the vet. The Accessory Pouch is great for food, food bowls, and brush. The Biscuit Bag's great for short trips as a purse, too, or on public transport. It's small, light, and holds a lot. I've even used it as a camera bag.

Beryl will be 11 this year, and he's traveled since he was 8 weeks old - air, car, you name it, even on ferries. As long as he has his bag he couldn't care less.

I used plastic travel crates for all my other pets before this, and they only tolerated them. I haven't seen an animal yet who didn't love a Sherpa. My cat lives in his if it's available. I have to hide it in a closet or he never comes out of it except to eat! He thinks he's going for a ride. He looks forward to traveling - a nice change from most cats. And I'm convinced it's due to the bag. I didn't travel-train him any differently than any of the other dogs or cats I've had over the years.

People ask me all the time how I could get a CAT to travel, they couldn't, their dog/cat hates the carrier, crate, etc. Answer's easy. Get one of these Sherpa bags. NOW. And start 'em young if you can!

When my cat is no longer with me, my bags will still be in use for my next pet. And the one after that... they're indestructible.

I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful product you have. We have several Montreal Bags and we take our Maltese everywhere with us. They adore the comfort and we appreciate the styling. You product is not only well made but timeless in styling as well. For those of us who wish to bring our little ones along rather than worry that they are home alone, you product is invaluable.

Thanks again.

I do not find enough words to praise the people who work at SherpaPet.

I only asked a suggestion concerning my faulty Sherpa bag that my little (12 weeks old) Taylor - she is a Jack Russell Terrier - got as a present from my friend in Buffalo, NY. I got not only a quick response and complete help, but it was fast and above all my expectations! This is the best experience I ever had with Customer Service assistance! They are really helpful, and pacient above limit.

Taylor and I are really thankful and would like to thank for your help! We will be visiting over the weekend the Animal Sheleter here in Tucson and make a thankful donation in your name :-)

Thank you and we wish you a wonderful Spring! Now we can travel safe and comfortable. Taylor loves her new bag and she thinks this is the best way to travel. It is enough to see the bag and she quickly gets into it waiting for a comfortable trip.

Praises and many THANKS!!!

Chica at five months, just returned from 6 weeks in Mexico. She traveled comfortably in her Sherpa Backpack leaving Canada at 7 a.m. with a stop in Seattle (which has a doggy toilet at the airport (great idea!) and arriving at 2 PM in Los Cabos without a peep out of her. In fact, no one noticed I had a pet. I had to tell Immigration and Security. It was a great bag to leave her in the few times I went to places that were "No Mascotas". In fact she preferred staying in the bag rather than being locked up in a room. They are great bags and I definitely recommend them to anyone wanting to take their pooch on an airplane.

Groucho, my miniature longhaired dachshund really loves his Sherpa! Even though most of the time, he does what he wants, when he wants to do it, all I have to say is "in the bag", and he jumps right in. If the bag is on the floor, he'll use it to take a nap. But I just love the fact that we can take our little guy with us almost everywhere we go "in the bag" - to shop, to the movies, to the office, and to eat in restaurants (some of the places his "dad" and I frequent have started asking us if we want a table "for 3")! We're on our second bag already (he outgrew the first one), and I'm ready for another more fashion-forward model! Thanks for a great product.

When I realized that I was going to take my precious cat, Kahsia, on her first air trip, I knew immediately I was going to the store to purchase your product.

I could not invision a product more or better suited to travel with a cat than the Sherpa bag. No plastic crate ever had a shoulder strap so that my princess could hear me and my ever-so-comforting heartbeats when walking through the terminus. The strap made it possible for her travel across my front side at an angle, her most comfortable position for rapid carrying. The soft sides helped her realize I was there for her at all times. Also, no plastic crate could bend and flex to make a fit under the surprisingly different seat sizes in the many air trips my cat and I have experienced.

I can't wait for the day she can have frequent flyer miles or pet passports.

Dear Sherpa:

Thank you one million times for your wonderful help. Customer service helped me find the perfect carrier for my elderly cat a year ago. The carrier had to fit under a specific sized seat on the airplane. With my Sherpa carrier I was able to travel with my cat across country 4 times. You shipped my carrier to me very fast. I cannot thank you enough. My cat has to go with me because he needs special medicine and he actually loved being in this carrier. He felt safe and comfortable inside and could look out and watch everything. I was able to carry him around easily. The carrier has flaps to lower to keep out drafts.

I was going crazy trying to find a carrier by looking in pet stores, but just did not know what I needed. Your customer service person was friendly and helpful. Thank you so much.

Michelle Malone

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for designing such a great product. I just returned from my first trip with my Bichon Frise, Mandy. I visited my parents with my dog in tow and it was such great comfort to have her with me. She took to her Sherpa bag like a flying ace and Delta airlines accepted her as my carry on with no hassle. On one flight they saw it was a Sherpa bag and made an extra effort to help me out. I bought the large bag since my dog weighs 16 lbs and the bag fit (or I made it fit) on the 4 different plane models I flew on. Thanks again for the great product. I met a lot of people who wished their dogs were with them on travel and I gave them the play by play on the process and told them all - get a Sherpa bag.

With Kind Regards, Gwen & Mandy

Gwen

When we took our 10 week old chinese crested puppy from Florida to her New home in New York we took her in a sherpa bag under the seat. She was very comfortable and quiet, most people didn't realize that there was a dog in there! The bag was easy to carry and our little girl could sit and move around.

Thanks Sherpa, for making a dream of what could have been a nightmare!

Paula

Thank you very much

Thank you very much for inventing the Sherpa bag. When I first got my little puppy boy (he's a little maltese) I was a bit concerned about leaving him when I had to go do errands and such. Now with the Sherpa bag I find I can take him anywhere.

Not only has it got him to and from Colorado with quite a long stopover but I've taken him into restaurants, into grocery stores and he's even accompanied me to vote. It looks like a tote bag and no one's the wiser. He's also now a veteran bus rider at little more than a year old.

What I'm amazed at is how quickly he took to the bag and how comfortable he feels in it now. When he sees me getting ready to go out he immediately runs over and jumps in his bag. It's as if he's saying " I'm coming too ".

Now I leave the bag open in the living room because I know that if he gets scared by some strange sound or something he can run into his "safe place". As a single puppy mommy (to the world's most spoiled rotten puppy) I don't know how I would have gotten along without it.

Thanks

Margaret and Jaspar

Hi Sherpa,

I have been searching for a great quality, good-looking bag for months. I was in Paris, without my dog, and found your bags in the pet department of a big department store. What a great find!

Many Thanks!

Michelle

Dear Gayle,

Eight years ago I was flying with my son's young Jack Russell puppy, Lukas. I was looking after him until my son could find an apartment which accepted dogs. A lovely flight attendant helped me with him during take-off, and told me about her friend (you) and the new Sherpa bag. I called you then, and you helped me out immediately. Since then I have purchased a dozen or more for gifts, and for my own little dog, Tucker, the son of Lukas. I have praised your name and product to pet stores everywhere, and your product has helped us in many situations. Tucker and Lukas are frequent travelers, and we all join in praising you for the comfort and convenience these carriers bring to all of us! Many, many thanks.

You deserve all your success! We are fans!

With fondest warm wishes,

Peggy, Tucker, and Lukas

All I can say is thank you from the bottom of mine and my pets heart!! We love our Sherpa bag. My husband and I were not able to have children, so our Bichon Frise is our child substitute. We would never dream of leaving him behind when we travel and the Sherpa bag has been the best!! It's about time Airlines treated our babies as precious passengers. We thank you for that. My baby and I are leaving for Seattle on Monday and are glad to have upgraded our medium bag to a large one. Yikes, he better not gain anymore weight as he is 18 pounds now. Anyway, we wanted to take time out to tip our hats to you. We give the Sherpa bag two paws up!!!!!

Good day to you, Gayle Martz!

I just wanted to thank you VERY much for your lovely little invention!

It helped get my sweet, geriatric, 17-year old Russian Blue through a traumatic time of air travel from the middle of Arkansas to the middle of California!

From the second she sniffed it, she loved it! She was sleeping in it within hours!

But I thought that surely after WHO knows how many hours of travel (at least EIGHT!) and travail in it in airplanes and airports and taxis, what with all those new sights and smells (she's totally stone-deaf) and thousands of strange people, that she'd flee the carrier at first opportunity, never to get with paw's distance from it again, but she STILL loves it!!!!!!! It's like her little nest, she loves to sleep in it, wherever it is! *big*grin* It says in the instructions that it folds flat for storage, but she'd go nutz if I tried that trick on her, she wouldn't be able to STAND not having it somewhere she can sleep in it!!! ^_^ ^_^ ^_^

So, thank you from the bottom of my heart for not only inventing this little gem, but for sharing it with everyone else!

Profuse thanks,

Melissa

Dear Sherpa,

Thanks so much for winning the right to carry our pets and for designing the wonderful Sherpa Bags. I carry my 2 12; yr old Shitzu, Tykee, back and forth between Chicago and San Francisco frequently. His Sherpa Bag is his 'home'. I just ordered the new one on wheels. Thanks! Sometimes we land in International terminals where no carts can are sold and its hard to carry Tykee long ways.

Gratefully

Arlynn

Dear Gayle,

I just wanted to let you know that I just love the Sherpa Bag. I got the one with wheels attached and I just used it on a trip to Europe. Jeanny (my dog) and I just loved it. She especially enjoyed the ride through the airport in the Sherpa Bag with the top open. Of course we got a lot of attention from other travelers too. Thanks for a great product.
